It has been seven years now since our family took a leap of faith to “give it a go” south of the equator in New Zealand. While our lives in sunny San Diego was viewed by many as paradise, we as a family wanted to try something completely different in our short time here on this earth. While it has been such a wonderful adventure, it hasn’t been all that wonderful or all that easy ALL OF THE TIME!!!
I have completed my first rough draft of my manuscript: Upside Down in New Zealand, in an attempt to answer the oft’ asked question, Why New Zealand? And, in particular, Why Masterton? It is my experience that readers enjoy vicariously living via other’s life’s trials and tribulations, and can identify with their joys and sorrows, getting inspiration or even hope.
I began writing this blog a few months ago to give friends and family a glimpse into my daily life in New Zealand, along with updates on my new business, Let’s Do Lunch…Hands-On Fresh and Flavourful Cooking. It is my hope that my weekly entries will offer some tips for meal ideas and introduce a few new dishes to one’s menu, along with a glimpse into rural New Zealand life here.
